Community
Many hands. One community.
The goal is not to create dependency. The goal is to create connections — the kind a neighbourhood can actually provide.
The idea
A committee, not a charity board.
We want a working network of local people who can each open one practical door: a trial shift, a set of tools, a lift to work, a licence explained, a form filled in, an introduction made. Small doors, opened quickly, add up to a way forward.
Nobody on this network is asked to solve anyone’s life. They are asked for the one thing they happen to be able to do.

Get involved
Three ways to be part of it.
Share a bowl
The simplest one. Add a shared bowl when you order and it goes into the community pool.
Offer a door
A trade, a tool, a trial shift, a mentor hour, a ride. Write to us and tell us what you can open.
Come and eat
Being a regular customer is genuinely how this works. The shop has to stand on its soup.
Write to hello@soupandsmile.com to join the network. We are based in North Carolina, USA; the exact address and evening hours will be published before opening.
